Deepening Prayer

How do we develop and lead prayer in our school?

We are called to be disciples who not only know about Jesus, but also come to know him in prayer. Our liturgies are celebrated in such a way that Christ's word is heard and his presence known. We encourage others to deepen their own relationship with the Lord, exploring prayer and ways of praying, and to consider the many ways that we celebrate our faith as individuals and as communities.

'Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.' Luke 11:1

What are we doing to develop and lead prayer in our school? Plans for 2021-2022

  • October the month of the Rosary- Chaplaincy groups to lead the Rosary and prayer intentions in the hall along with chaplains from our Samuel Partnership schools.
  • Chaplaincy team to lead in weekly collective worship based on the Nurturing Human Wholeness Statements.
  • Plan an outdoor prayer space which can be used by the whole school.
  • Support the parish priest and deacons in helping to prepare for Masses in school throughout the year.
  • Create a video montage of our outreach work and share with Samuel Partnership.
  • Introduce a weekly intercessory prayer group led by the children and supported by the chaplaincy team.
