How do we develop and lead prayer in our school?

We are called to be disciples who not only know about Jesus, but also come to know him in prayer. Our liturgies are celebrated in such a way that Christ's word is heard and his presence known. We encourage others to deepen their own relationship with the Lord, exploring prayer and ways of praying, and to consider the many ways that we celebrate our faith as individuals and as communities.

'Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.' Luke 11:1

What are we doing to develop and lead prayer in our school? Plans for 2023-2024

  • Children to lead in weekly Prayer and Liturgy.
  • Children to celebrate the birthday of Mary by planning a special Mass.
  • Support the parish priest and deacons in helping to prepare for Masses throughout the school year.
  • Create a video montage of our outreach work/LiveSimply award and share with Samuel Partnership
  • Chaplaincy council to organise opportunities for parents to take part in a Catholic Social Teaching workshop.
  • Children to take part in wider variety of prayer and worship activities.
