Catholic Social Teaching- A Golden Thread Throughout Our Curriculum

At St Mary’s, Catholic Social Teaching is woven throughout our curriculum, reflecting our commitment to educating the whole child in mind, heart and spirit. Every subject provides opportunities for pupils to deepen their understanding of the world, recognise their own dignity and develop a responsibility towards others.

Through English and oracy, pupils discover the power of their voice, embracing Human Dignity and Participation. Mathematics, Science and Computing nurture critical thinking and problem-solving, contributing to the Common Good. History and Geography develop empathy, Solidarity and an understanding of injustice, whilst Science, Design and Technology and PE encourage Stewardship, wellbeing and care for God's Creation.

Our inclusive curriculum reflects the Option for the Poor and Vulnerable, ensuring every child is valued, supported and empowered to flourish.

At St Mary’s, faith is not simply taught; it is lived through every aspect of learning. By weaving together knowledge, compassion and Gospel values, we nurture confident, articulate and socially responsible young people, equipped not only to succeed, but to make a meaningful difference in the world.
